Fashion Technical Product Developer

Shape technical garment details with fit, construction, and sourcing knowledge at Smash + Tess in Richmond, BC, through a three-month contract.

As an Assistant Product Developer, you will help translate design concepts into production-ready garments. The work spans first prototype fittings, pre-production samples, size sets, and top-of-production samples. You will collaborate with the Designer, review samples against tech packs, and preserve a cohesive style history while maintaining quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with Designer on seasonal product development
• Establish desired garment look and fit
• Measure samples and review construction before fittings
• Maintain fit standards throughout development stages
• Present solutions for yarn and fabric quality issues

Requirements:

• Two or more years in garment product development
• Extensive understanding of construction, production, and fit
• Strong knowledge of raw materials and sourcing
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
• Ability to manage multiple projects with attention to detail
