Field Network Engineer

Location: South East (London and surrounding areas), a full UK driving licence and residence within the advertised region are essential.

Salary: salary dependent on experience, plus company car, fuel card, paid overtime and on-call and expenses covered.

Due to continued growth, Comms-care is looking for a Field Network Engineer to join our Technical Services team. This role combines field-based and remote technical support, helping customers resolve hardware and networking issues and return systems to service quickly and effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Work within the Technical Services team and be responsible for providing the technical support skills to our customers both onsite and remotely.
  • Installing and supporting network devices, PCs and Servers for our customers.
  • Remote and onsite troubleshooting.
  • Pre-staging of router and switch installations according to documentation.
  • Facilitating customer adds, moves & changes, customer rollouts and other project based installs.
  • Project based site survey and documentation.
  • Post-Sales support.
  • Site visits to assess and swap non-functional equipment.

There will also be an On Call requirement of not more than 1 week in 3.

Requirements

  • Experience using Cisco, Draytek, Zyxel, Netgear routers.
  • Experienced in Cisco, Aruba and HP switches.
  • 1st/ 2nd line Server/PC hardware break fix support.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and explain technical issues clearly to customers.
  • Experience providing network and PC/ Server field engineering services to high profile customers.
  • A flexible approach to work and prepared 'go the extra mile' to exceed customer expectations.
  • Applies knowledge and skills through handling problems beyond own area of expert.
