Project Accountant

Temporary Contract - 4 to 6 months

Location - Edmonton, Alberta or Houston, Texas

Hybrid Remote

WHAT YOU WILL EXPERIENCE IN THIS POSITION:

In this position, you will get to:

• Perform commercial contract administration, working with Project Management and Customers to ensure commercial contract terms are met
• Ensure an accurate SAP project set up to allow proper cost collection, reporting and invoicing, including pricing conditions and billing plans
• Prepare accurate and timely project invoices including complete and detailed support documentation
• Identify and recommend process improvements, and assist leaders in implementing new processes.
• Perform project close-out
• Coordinate with Collections to ensure timely payment of invoices by clients
• Assist other departments with Project Accounting related tasks such as time and costs allocations, customer requested documentation, Portal set ups, etc.
• Support and participate actively in achieving Monthly Billing Forecasts, as well as keep accurate notes in SAP of invoicing trends.

WHAT YOU HAVE:

• Degree and relevant work experience preferred; or completed coursework in a related fields such as Accounting, Commerce, or Business Administration at a recognized university or college with equivalent work experience
• Ideally a minimum of five (3) years’ experience in a Project Accounting or an accounting/AR or PC role
• Knowledge in SAP in the Project System and Sales and Distribution Modules preferred;
• Recent experience using Track, AES or Suncor’s CCC system or another client based charge collection program is preferred.
