Finance Director (Part-time, 3 days a week)

La Coqueta is a premium, Spanish-inspired children's wear brand, founded in London in 2013 and loved by families in the UK, US and around the world. We sell online, through our stores in Notting Hill and on Madison Avenue in New York, through concessions in Selfridges and Harrods, and through a growing wholesale business. We have a UK parent company and a US subsidiary, and ambitious plans to keep growing, including our next US store opening in 2027. We're looking for a part-time Finance Director to be a true partner to our Managing Director and board.

The role

This is a strategic, hands-on role, three days a week, supported by a full-time Management Accountant who runs month-end and day-to-day finance. You will:

• partner closely with the Managing Director, offering honest challenge and clear commercial insight
• review and sign off the monthly management accounts, cash forecast and board pack, and present to the board;
• lead the annual budget, reforecasts and the 3-year plan;
• own the investment case for every new store and major project: capex, cash and payback;
• oversee UK and US tax, transfer pricing, entity structure and compliance;
• manage banking, FX exposure and key commercial negotiations;
• build a lean, scalable finance function, using automation and AI before adding headcount.

About you

• A qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with Finance Director or senior finance leadership experience.
• Experience of a multi-entity, multi-currency group, ideally UK and US, including consolidation and US sales tax.
• Confident presenting to a board and being challenged on the numbers.
• Commercial and pragmatic: you focus on what matters and explain numbers simply.
• Experience in fashion, retail, e-commerce or a consumer brand, and of store roll-out or international expansion, is a strong plus.
• Comfortable in a fast-moving, founder-led business.

Working pattern: three days a week, with office time in Westbourne Park, London (our team is in Tuesday to Thursday).
