Finance Director
Aria Partners
Aria Partners is delighted to be working with a highly successful, entrepreneurial investment manager to appoint a Finance Director into its growing London operation.
With an international footprint and ambitious plans for further growth, this is an opportunity to join a dynamic, well-capitalised platform at an exciting stage of its development, operating strategies across a variety of asset classes but principally Private Equity and Credit.
Reporting into the CFO/COO and managing a small finance team, the Finance Director will take ownership of the day-to-day finance function across both the funds and management company, providing senior-level oversight whilst remaining closely involved in the detail.
Responsibilities will include:
- Overall responsibility for fund and corporate finance, including financial reporting, management accounts, budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management (outsourced set up).
- Oversight of fund accounting, quarterly NAVs, valuations, investor reporting, capital calls, distributions and carried interest calculations.
- Managing relationships with external fund administrators, auditors, tax advisers and other service providers across multiple jurisdictions.
- Oversight of tax, regulatory reporting and compliance requirements across the fund structures and management entities.
- Working closely with the investment team on transactions, portfolio monitoring, fund structuring, valuations and wider commercial matters.
- Leading and developing a small finance team, whilst driving improvements to systems, processes and financial controls, especially around use of AI/Claude.
- Acting as a key point of contact for senior management and the investment partners on all finance-related matters.
The ideal candidate:
We are looking for an ACA, CA or ACCA qualified accountant, ideally trained in practice, with approximately 10 years' post-qualification experience (or equivalent) and a strong track record within private markets.
Experience gained within private equity, private credit or listed investment funds would be particularly relevant.
Crucially, we need someone who has operated in a smaller, fast-paced and growing investment manager, where they've been responsible for the full breadth of finance rather than specialising in one particular area.
This isn't a role for someone who has spent their career overseeing a narrow function within a large, heavily resourced organisation. We're looking for a commercially minded, technically strong and genuinely hands-on finance professional who can switch comfortably between the detail and the bigger picture.
Strong communication skills, sound judgement and the confidence to engage with senior investment professionals are essential, alongside a proactive, adaptable approach and a willingness to roll up your sleeves.
An excellent opportunity for an established Finance Director or an ambitious senior Financial Controller looking to step into a broader leadership role within a successful and growing investment platform.
Salary on offer is c.£150-170k base plus bonus. Please note this is a full time office based role with occasional flexibility over the summer and December.
