  • Complete an 8-month Finance internship beginning January 11, 2027
  • Join one of six Finance teams: Accounting & Financial Reporting, Brokerage Finance, Internal Controls, Finance Operations (Procure-to-Pay), Treasury: Debt Capital Markets, or Treasury: Financial Partnerships
  • Own real work from the first weeks with manager and mentor support
  • Learn one Finance area deeply and understand its connection to the wider company
  • Apply AI tools such as Claude to monthly close and repetitive processes
  • Identify and improve processes across the assigned Finance track
  • Analyze financial and operational data in a fast-moving fintech environment
  • Accounting & Financial Reporting: prepare accruals and entries, reconcile bank accounts and intercompany balances, prepare balance sheet reconciliations in FloQast, and explain period movements
  • Brokerage Finance: record revenue, reconcile client cash, securities, and crypto positions, and support regulatory capital filings
  • Internal Controls: test controls, gather evidence, conduct process walkthroughs, create flowcharts and narratives, support quarterly control confirmations, and prepare Audit Committee updates
  • Finance Operations: support purchases through Zip, onboard vendors, coordinate reviews, match invoices to purchase orders, code invoices, route approvals, and report process delays
  • Treasury: Debt Capital Markets: track credit facilities, borrowing limits, conditions, renewals, lender reporting, and funding scenarios
  • Treasury: Financial Partnerships: research banking partners, prepare negotiation analysis, attend partnership discussions, track performance, and monitor financial risks including foreign exchange and interest-rate exposure

Requirements

  • Working toward a degree in accounting, business, finance, or a related field, or recently finished one
  • Working understanding of accounting principles and concepts
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Communication and collaboration skills to work across teams
  • Comfort in a fast-moving environment with real deadlines
  • Curiosity about technology, fintech, and how AI is changing Finance
  • Demonstrated interest in finance and analytics
  • Ability to reliably commute to the Toronto office two days per week, Wednesdays and Thursdays
  • Legally authorized to work full-time in Canada without immigration support from Wealthsimple
  • Ability to complete an 8-month internship beginning January 11, 2027
