Finance Manager

In this interim Finance Manager role, you will lead a finance team within a Gloucester-based manufacturing business to deliver timely management accounts and robust financial controls. You’ll partner with operations and senior management to analyse performance, explain variances, and support month‑end close, focusing on manufacturing metrics. The position is hands‑on and ideal for a proactive finance professional ready to hit the ground running. This role offers an opportunity to shape reporting processes and drive efficiency within the finance function, with a 6–12 month horizon and ASAP start.

• Lead, manage and develop the finance team, overseeing day-to-day activities
• Oversee the preparation and production of monthly management accounts
• Review financial results, investigate variances against budget and forecast, and provide commentary on performance
• Support the month-end close process
• Monitor costs, margins and operational performance with a focus on manufacturing metrics
• Work closely with operational and senior management teams
• Ensure robust financial controls and processes are maintained across the business
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting processes, efficiencies and overall finance function effectiveness

• Proven experience in a Finance Manager or similar senior management accounting role
• Previous experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment is essential
• Experience of producing and reviewing monthly management accounts
• Previous experience line managing, motivating and developing a finance team
• Hands-on, proactive approach with the ability to hit the ground running
