Finance Manager

As Finance Manager, you will own day-to-day finance in a SME manufacturing environment, reporting to the senior leadership team and driving business performance. You’ll lead financial reporting, cash management, and key controls while supporting operational decision-making. The role offers autonomy within a small, collaborative team and involvement in both financial and operational outcomes. • Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheets and trial balances
• Manage cash flow and banking activities
• Oversee payroll, VAT returns and pension submissions
• Ensure smooth transactional finance processes and controls
• Support foreign currency transactions and board reporting
• Assist the annual audit process
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders on financial and operational decisions

• Proven experience in a broad hands-on finance role, ideally in an SME
• Ability to prepare management accounts, balance sheets and cash flow forecasts
• Experience overseeing transactional finance, payroll and VAT
• Experience with Sage accounting systems, ideally Sage 200 (advantageous)
• Strong Excel and Microsoft 365 skills
• Excellent organisational and communication abilities
• Proactive, detail-oriented, able to manage multiple priorities independently
