Financial Planning Manager Edmonton

Lead fiscal planning and forecasting for Alberta’s Ministry of Affordability and Utilities in downtown Edmonton, working full time in-office.

The Financial Planning Manager leads finance professionals delivering budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis services. You will advise senior leadership, support ministry-wide decisions, and coordinate Treasury Board and legislative processes. The role also works with the Alberta Utilities Commission, Balancing Pool, and government stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate the Ministry’s annual Treasury Board budget submission
• Construct branch fiscal year budgets from requests and decisions
• Compile expenditure forecasts and senior management analysis
• Prepare quarterly fiscal update financial data
• Coach Budget Officers and monitor accurate, timely deliverables

Requirements:

• University graduation in business, commerce, accounting, or related field
• Four years of progressively related experience
• Experience coordinating annual budgets and expenditure forecasts
• Experience providing financial advice for management decisions
• Experience leading staff and managing budgeting stakeholders
