V7 Recruitment is looking for an experienced Fire Alarm Technical Consultant for a 6-month contract based in Brentwood, Essex.

This is an office-based technical role focused on reviewing completed fire alarm works, technical compliance and certification across a reactive and PPM contract.

We’re looking for someone with a strong technical fire alarm background who understands BS 5839 and has experience reviewing documentation and signing off fire alarm certification.

The Role

• Review completed fire alarm works and associated documentation
• Review and sign off fire alarm certification
• Check certification and supporting evidence for accuracy and compliance
• Ensure works meet BS 5839 and relevant industry standards
• Identify non-conformances and advise on remedial works required
• Provide technical guidance to engineers
• Review drawings, specifications and technical documentation
• Liaise with engineers and clients regarding technical queries
• Maintain accurate certification and compliance records

Experience Required

• Strong technical background within the fire alarm industry
• Excellent working knowledge of BS 5839
• Previous experience reviewing or signing off fire alarm certification
• Experience within fire alarm design, commissioning, inspection or compliance
• Good knowledge of conventional and addressable fire alarm systems
• Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and certification
• FIA or equivalent fire alarm qualifications advantageous
• BAFE or similar quality framework experience beneficial

This would suit an experienced Fire Alarm Engineer, Commissioning Engineer or Technical Manager looking to move away from day-to-day field work and into a technical role focused on compliance, certification and quality assurance.
