Technology underpins everything we do at Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service. From emergency communications and Fire Control systems to data, networking and critical operational technology, ICT plays a vital role in helping keep Suffolk safe.

As a Fire ICT Engineer, you’ll join a dynamic team supporting and developing the technology that enables frontline and support services to operate effectively. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to digital transformation projects while working in a supportive public service environment where your work makes a real difference.

Your role:

You’ll support, maintain and develop a range of specialist and business-critical systems, including:

• Maintaining radio communications, telephony systems and emergency alerting platforms.
• Providing technical support for IT infrastructure, networks, systems and data centre technologies.
• Installing, configuring, troubleshooting and monitoring ICT systems.
  Supporting ICT projects and, following training, participating in an on-call rota for critical systems.
• Implementing security measures to protect data and ensure compliance with policies and regulations.
• Managing and responding to IT service requests, resolving issues and escalating where required.
