Build Firefox Storage Encryption Everywhere with strong C++ skills in a remote contract role spanning Canada, Germany, and the UK. Work on Gecko storage security and browser-engine delivery.

As a Contract Staff Software Engineer, you will support the Firefox DOM LWS team. The work centers on completing Storage Encryption Everywhere through Gecko implementation, database experience, and web testing. You will collaborate through public code review and upstream landing.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implement Storage Encryption Everywhere in Gecko
  • Migrate data between schemas and implement PBM storage
  • Write and pass Web Platform Tests
  • Resolve specification questions and Gecko test needs
  • Shepherd features through Nightly, Beta, and Release

Requirements:

  • Strong C++ programming skills
  • Substantial browser-engine experience, ideally Firefox or Gecko
  • Substantial database experience
  • Familiarity with web standards and Web Platform Tests
  • Strong debugging and optimization in multithreaded code
