Overview
As Embedded Firmware Engineer at Fuse Energy, you will craft low-level firmware for energy devices, driving real-time control and reliable hardware integration. You’ll partner with hardware and controls teams to shape firmware requirements and testing. Your work enables robust, efficient devices that underpin our modular energy network and grid-balancing efforts. - Develop low-level firmware and drivers for microcontrollers and embedded peripherals (SPI, I2C, UART, DMA, ADC)
- Design and implement real-time control software and embedded algorithms for energy devices
- Write, test, and debug firmware in C/C++ on bare-metal or RTOS-based systems
- Collaborate with hardware, systems and controls teams to define firmware requirements and test plans
- Participate in code reviews, document, and contribute to firmware practice improvements
- Assist in board bring-up, profiling and debugging with tools like oscilloscopes, JTAG/SWD, and logic analysers
- Implement and maintain bootloaders, linker scripts and firmware deployment pipelines
- 2+ years of embedded systems or firmware engineering
- Strong proficiency in C, with firmware for microcontrollers
- Experience with MCU peripherals: SPI, I2C, UART, DMA, timers, ADCs, Flash, CAN
- Experience with real-time systems and embedded toolchains (GNU, IAR)
- Familiarity with version control and tooling (Git, Docker, CI pipelines)
- Ability to use hardware debugging tools (oscilloscopes, logic analysers, JTAG/SWD)
