Forward Deployed Engineer

We are looking for a technically adept, customer-centric Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) based in London to lead high-impact technical deployments and own the bridge between complex industrial environments and modern data architecture.

What You'll Do

• Own End-to-End Deployments: Immerse yourself in customer technical and operational ecosystems - mapping IT-to-OT landscapes, siloed data sources, and process data models.
• Deploy Edge & Connectivity: Scope, deploy, and manage edge compute devices and industrial networking infrastructure directly on-site for reliable data collection.
• Build Data Pipelines & AI Workflows: Write and optimize high-performance SQL and Python data pipelines that power real-time analytics, dashboards, and platform AI features.
• Act as a Trusted Strategist: Partner closely with C-suite executives, plant managers, and frontline workers to scope ambiguous business challenges and translate them into robust software solutions.
• Drive Product Evolution: Serve as the critical feedback loop between field deployments and core engineering to influence our product roadmap.
• Travel Globally: Embark on international deployment projects to see firsthand how the physical world is made.

What We're Looking For

• Experience: 5+ years in a technical deployment, embedded engineering, solutions architecture, or client-facing technical role.
• Core Technical Skills: Deep, hands-on knowledge of SQL (required) and proficiency in Python (or an equivalent general-purpose language).
• Infrastructure & Networking: Experience with networking, edge compute, Docker/Kubernetes, or infrastructure components.
• Industrial Familiarity: Prior exposure to Operational Technology (OT) environments - such as PLCs, industrial protocols, and manufacturing systems is highly valued.
• Problem-Solving Agility: Exceptional ability to scope ambiguous business challenges and rapidly iterate on-site to build stable, mission-critical systems.
• Mindset & Mobility: An entrepreneurial, adaptable attitude with a genuine excitement for global travel and hands-on site dynamics.
