Forward Deployed Engineer

As an RFP/RFI Forward Deployed Engineer, you operate where solution engineering, professional services, and product management meet. You will apply AI tooling and implementation know-how to craft foundational solutions that address customer needs and accelerate value. You’ll collaborate with sales to support growth while gaining deep SaaS product understanding. In the first year you’ll lead technical engagements, become a trusted advisor, and may present at conferences. This role blends technical depth with consultative, cross-functional influence to shape SailPoint’s offerings.

• Participate in the sales process and work with direct and channel sales teams
• Discover customer requirements and align SailPoint solutions with those needs using AI tooling
• Lead onsite and remote foundational implementation engagements
• Educate customers on high-level product architecture, design, and best practices
• Analyze and document customer requirements and map them to SailPoint solutions
• Collaborate with sales, solution engineering, product, professional services, and customer success for a seamless experience
• Collaborate with Forward Deployed Engineering teammates to design creative solutions to complex problems
• Master AI and agentic technologies to solve customer problems
• Contribute to building agentic technology demonstrations for SailPoint products

• 5-7+ years in enterprise software, systems integrator, or consulting
• 3+ years of software implementation or pre-sales experience
• Strong communication skills and client-facing experience
• Working knowledge of web services, app servers, databases, virtualization, and directories
• Conversant with modern SaaS architecture
• Experience with agentic coding tools (Cursor, Claude Code, Kiro, Google Antigravity, GitHub Copilot, OpenAI Codex)
• Familiarity with Java, XML, Python, SQL, PowerShell, JSON; Azure/AWS/GCP desirable
• Experience with NodeJS, JavaScript, Typescript, Angular, React.js
• Preferred: Identity/Governance & Access Management exposure; various OS, databases, LDAP/AD, SAP/ServiceNow
• Education: Computer Science or Engineering degree or equivalent experience
• SailPoint Certified Engineer/Solution Architect a plus (expected within 12 months)
• Travel up to 15%
