Overview
In this role you will shape and deliver cloud-based solutions within the Group Protection tech team, spanning the full software delivery lifecycle. You will influence engineering practices, drive secure, scalable applications, and collaborate with product owners and engineers to translate business needs into technical outcomes. You’ll lead problem solving, promote engineering excellence, and mentor others, contributing to a culture of high performance. This is a chance to impact customer outcomes in a large financial services group.

- Design, develop and deploy scalable applications using modern engineering practices

- Contribute to architectural decisions, reduce technical debt, and improve platform sustainability
- Java and JavaScript/TypeScript development experience
- RESTful microservices in Spring Boot, Node.js or similar frameworks
- Cloud technologies with emphasis on Azure; containerisation tools
- CI/CD pipelines and modern DevOps practices (GitHub Actions preferred)
- Software design principles, clean architecture, and test-driven development
- Experience in Agile environments (Scrum/Kanban)
