About the Role

Harvey is hiring a Forward Deployed Finance Engineer - Private Credit to partner with sales and customer teams to build and run pilots, demos, and custom underwriting workflows for private credit investors. You will translate real-world credit deal work into reproducible Harvey Deals solutions, own the credit playbook, and drive product improvements based on live customer feedback.

Role

Harvey is hiring the first Finance Engineer dedicated to private credit. This is a customer-facing, forward-deployed role that partners with Account Executives and Customer Success to run pilots, build demo libraries and workflow templates, and translate live deal work into repeatable Harvey Deals solutions for direct lenders, private credit funds, BDC managers, and insurer credit teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead discovery, demos, pilots, trainings, onboarding, and custom builds alongside AEs and CSMs.
• Design and build screening, underwriting, diligence, and credit committee workflows in clients' templates and formats.
• Run live pilots and guide credit teams through AI-enabled capabilities and agentic workflows.
• Perform lender presentation and CIM review, QoE/data pack analysis, cash flow and leverage modeling, sizing and structuring, covenant and credit agreement review, and credit memo drafting.
• Support post-close activity: compliance certificate review, covenant tracking, amendment/waiver analysis, and quarterly portfolio reporting.
• Collect and relay customer feedback to shape product roadmap and product releases.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience on the investment or underwriting team at a direct lender, private credit fund, BDC manager, or insurer private credit arm, with ownership of live deal execution (screening, underwriting, diligence, modeling, structuring, committee materials).
• Strong command of documents and data that drive credit decisions (CIM, QoE/data pack, models, credit agreements, compliance certificates).
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills; experience with prompting and agentic AI workflows.
• Builder mindset for turning manual processes into repeatable automations; Python, SQL, or internal tooling experience is a plus.
• Executive presence, outstanding communication and presentation skills, and experience building credibility with stakeholders from analysts to partners/committee members.
• Customer-facing experience and a solutions-oriented, results-driven mindset.

Travel

• Role may require travel approximately 2-3+ times per month, typically for 1-3 days per trip for significant business needs.

Product / Team Context

• You will work on Harvey Deals (built from Harvey's acquisition of Benchmark), the product where investment teams run deals with traceable figures linked back to source documents. Finance Engineers shape how that capability meets real deal workflows.
