Founding Engineer

We’re partnering with an early-stage technology company building a highly ambitious platform at the intersection of AI, data and healthcare .

They’re looking for a Founding Engineer to join a small, highly technical team and play a major role in shaping the product, architecture and engineering culture from an early stage.

This is a genuinely hands-on, 0→1 engineering role with significant ownership and the opportunity to work on technically challenging problems involving large-scale data processing, LLMs and high-performance backend systems.

What you’ll be working on:

• Building large-scale data pipelines using Python and LLM-powered extraction
• Designing and scaling APIs and MCP-based infrastructure for high-volume workloads
• Turning complex, unstructured information into structured, computable data
• Building reliable backend systems designed for low-latency, large-scale usage
• Owning projects end-to-end, from identifying problems through to production
• Experimenting with AI agents, coding tools and emerging AI engineering workflows
• Helping shape technical decisions and engineering practices as an early team member

What we’re looking for:

• 2–6 years’ commercial experience in Backend Engineering, Software Engineering or Data Engineering
• Experience building and shipping production systems
• Strong computer science and engineering fundamentals
• Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a closely related technical discipline
• Experience with Rust, C or C++ would be a strong plus
• Comfortable working in a fast-moving, high-ownership startup environment
• Interested in AI/LLMs and modern engineering tooling
