About the Role

Join a small, high-autonomy engineering team building infrastructure to make healthcare billing more deterministic. You will help create systems that turn clinical coverage policies into computable rules, supporting faster and more consistent evaluation of healthcare claims.

What You'll Do

  • Build data pipelines that use large language models to extract structured clinical rules from payer policy documents.
  • Design and scale APIs and MCP endpoints that serve computable coverage rules with low latency.
  • Translate medical necessity criteria into FHIR queries and formal logic for evaluation against patient records.
  • Own projects from initial problem discovery through implementation, identifying high-impact gaps and delivering solutions.
  • Experiment with AI-assisted coding workflows, agents, and emerging tools.

What We're Looking For

  • Two to six years of production backend or data engineering experience after graduation.
  • Strong Python skills; experience with Rust, C, or C++ is a plus.
  • A degree in computer science, engineering, or mathematics, with strong technical fundamentals.
  • Familiarity with relevant technologies such as AWS, Prefect, LakeFS, LLMs, Pydantic AI, FHIR, or MCP is useful.
  • Interest in healthcare technology and building reliable, data-intensive systems.

Compensation & Benefits

Salary range: £120,000 to £200,000 annually. Candidates must already have the right to work in the UK or an existing visa that can be transferred. New visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

On-site, five days per week in London, England, United Kingdom.
