FPGA Engineer

In this role you will contribute to a leading engineering organisation by designing and validating FPGA-based systems for high-assurance defence and security applications. You will work across a diverse range of FPGA projects, from signal processing to safety-critical platforms, within multidisciplinary teams. You’ll influence technical decisions and apply the latest FPGA technologies from concept through deployment. This is a hands-on, impact-driven opportunity to shape performance, reliability and security across complex systems.
Responsibilities- Architect FPGA solutions and implement RTL (VHDL and/or SystemVerilog)
- Perform verification, integration and system validation across the development lifecycle
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver complex, high-assurance platforms
- Manage timing closure and toolchain workflows for FPGA designs
- Contribute to technical decisions and influence architecture and design trade-offs
- Support deployment and field validation of FPGA-based systems
- FPGA development experience using VHDL and/or SystemVerilog
- Experience with Xilinx, Intel, or Microchip FPGA devices
- Understanding of FPGA verification methodologies and simulation tools
- Experience with FPGA design toolchains and timing closure
- Embedded software development experience in C
- Strong documentation and communication skills
- Desirable: experience with DSP, image processing, RF systems, embedded processing, or safety-critical development
