Overview
In this role, you will design and implement FPGA solutions for distributed fibre sensing instruments used globally to monitor critical infrastructure. You’ll collaborate with scientists and engineers to move concepts into deployed products, combining R&D with platform enhancements. The work is hands-on, mixing high-speed digital design with system-level debugging to deliver robust sensing technology. You will operate in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and contribute to scalable, real-world deployments.
Responsibilities
- design and implement FPGA solutions for distributed fibre sensing instruments
- contribute to both new product R&D and enhancements of existing platforms
- work closely with scientists and engineers to take concepts to deployment
- debug and validate high-speed digital and analogue hardware in multi-disciplinary projects
- apply timing closure and multi-clock domain design techniques to ensure reliability
Key requirements
- VHDL experience with Xilinx Vivado
- multi-clock domain design and timing closure expertise
- DSP functions implementation in FPGAs (DDC, filters, FFT)
- familiarity with Xilinx RFSoC Ultrascale+ and associated ADC/DAC peripherals
- understanding of high-speed digital and analogue hardware design and debug
