Fractional CPA / Financial Controller

Position Overview

This role will focus on monthly review, oversight, compliance, reconciliations, and financial reporting across multiple operating companies.

Estimated commitment:

• Approximately 10–15 hours per month
• Flexible scheduling
• Combination of remote and in-office work may be considered

Responsibilities

• Review monthly bookkeeping entries and reconciliations
• Verify accuracy of financial reporting
• Review and assist with:
  • HST filings
  • Payroll remittances
  • EHT obligations
  • Corporate tax planning/prepayments
• Review AP and AR aging reports
• Monitor cash flow reporting and account balances
• Assist with monthly close procedures
• Identify accounting inconsistencies or operational concerns
• Help implement improved financial controls and processes
• Coordinate with ownership and internal administration staff
• Support preparation of clean, bank-ready financial statements

Qualifications

• CPA designation preferred
• Experience with service-based and/or construction accounting
• Strong understanding of:
  • Job costing
  • Payroll remittances
  • Multi-entity accounting
  • Financial controls
  • QuickBooks Online
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and identify issues proactively

Compensation

• Competitive hourly or monthly retainer structure
• Compensation based on experience and qualifications
• Pay: $66,625.86–$133,286.57 per year
