Overview

In this Senior Java Developer role, you contribute to risk technology used by traders and the Structured Rates desk-facing squad. You’ll design and build functionality for risk management systems, partnering with product leads to drive continuous improvement. You’ll ensure quality through testing and CI/CD, support production releases, and collaborate with global teams to deliver scalable, reliable solutions. Responsibilities
  • Partner with product leads to identify opportunities to enhance platforms and solutions
  • Design and build functionality for risk management systems across the full SDLC
  • Gather and evaluate business and technical requirements to drive improvements
  • Ensure high-quality delivery with unit testing, regression testing, and CI/CD practices
  • Support production releases and post-deployment support in a fast-paced environment
  • Work with cutting-edge technologies and risk management systems
  • Develop distributed systems leveraging caches and grid-computing technologies
  • Collaborate with global Interest Rates Derivative technology, middleware and infrastructure teams
Key requirements
  • 6+ years of relevant experience
  • Strong understanding of software engineering principles, data structures, design patterns, and scalable development
  • Proficiency in Java (APIs, collections, multithreading)
  • Experience building scalable distributed systems with distributed caches/grid computing
  • Familiarity with unit testing, mocking frameworks, and CI pipelines
  • Exposure to Scala is advantageous
  • Knowledge of frameworks/platforms such as Symphony, Akka, Coherence, Infinispan, Cassandra, or Hazelcast
  • Knowledge of risk systems development including valuation and risk calculations is highly valued
  • Experience with model libraries or pricing engines is a plus
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills in a global environment
