Front Office Software Engineer

In this role you will build and optimize ultra-low latency Java systems for pricing, risk, and trading within a high-performance market-making stack. You will collaborate with Quants and front-office teams to support live trading and continuously evolve the electronic trading infrastructure. The position emphasizes concurrency, memory management, and scalable design in a fast-paced, London-based environment. This is a hands-on, impact-driven opportunity to shape global trading operations and risk systems while advancing engineering excellence.

- Develop and optimize high-performance Java systems for pricing, risk and trading
- Enhance low latency, high-throughput architecture components
- Apply advanced concurrency and memory management techniques
- Design scalable, resilient systems and contribute to architecture decisions
- Build monitoring, maintenance and performance-diagnostics tooling
- Collaborate with Quants, Financial Engineering, Front Office and Business Operations
- Support live trading, troubleshoot time-critical production issues
- Mentor junior developers and promote best practices in code and design
- Strong hands-on Java development in low latency financial systems
- Deep understanding of performance optimisation, concurrency and JVM internals
- Experience on pricing, risk or electronic trading platforms
- Knowledge of FIX protocol, order routing and broker connectivity (beneficial)
- Strong mathematical and problem-solving mindset
- Experience across FX, Equities, Commodities or Derivatives (preferred)
- Calmness in a fast-paced front-office trading environment
- Experience mentoring engineers and influencing technical direction
- Minimum 2:1 degree in related numerate disciplines
