Frontend Engineer

As a Frontend Engineer in Zopa’s Web Engineering team, you will shape customer-facing and internal web experiences using modern frontend tech. You’ll own features end-to-end, collaborate with product, design and backend teams, and help raise engineering standards through reusable components and best practices. You’ll optimize performance, accessibility and reliability while learning from experienced peers. This hybrid London role offers impactful work in a mission-driven fintech environment.

• Build and enhance customer-facing and internal web applications using Next.js, React, TypeScript and GraphQL.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, Marketing and Backend teams to deliver accessible, high-performing experiences.
• Improve reusable components, shared libraries and engineering practices to accelerate delivery.
• Optimize performance, reliability and accessibility using data, experimentation and feedback.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, CI/CD and observability to maintain high engineering standards.
• Take ownership and proactively identify opportunities to improve applications and developer experience.

• Commercial experience building modern web applications using React, TypeScript and Next.js.
• Solid understanding of frontend principles: component-based architecture, state management, responsive and accessible UI.
• Experience collaborating with Product Managers, Designers and Engineers to deliver high-quality UX.
• Interest in writing clean, maintainable code and improving performance, reliability and developer experience.
• Familiarity with testing, Git, CI/CD and Agile delivery.
