Frontend Software Engineer (JavaScript / TypeScript & React)

As a UI Software Engineer at Darktrace, you will build and refine dynamic, accessible user interfaces for our AI-powered cybersecurity platform. You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate UI with core systems, focusing on speed, scalability, and a superior user experience. You’ll contribute to design discussions, optimize front-end performance, and maintain documentation. This hybrid role places you in Cambridge or London, shaping tools used across a global security platform.

• Develop and implement reusable UI components using modern frameworks (React/Angular/Vue)
• Ensure accessibility (WCAG) and inclusive UX
• Optimize front-end performance for speed and scalability across devices
• Collaborate with backend teams to integrate APIs and ensure data consistency
• Participate in design discussions and provide technical input to improve usability
• Maintain documentation and contribute to UI development best practices

• Proficiency in React and production-grade JavaScript/TypeScript
• Strong CSS skills
• Experience with Redux and TanStack Query
• Experience translating designs from Figma
• Good understanding of UX practices and web application security fundamentals
• Proficiency with Git
• Foundational programming concepts and data structures, especially with large datasets
• Portfolio or public GitHub showcasing prior work
