Overview

In this role you will design and deliver complex software for Citi's Risk Data Team, focusing on scalable Java-based microservices and data pipelines. You will work within the Institutional Data Platform to modernize risk data workflows and enable data-driven decision making across the enterprise. You will contribute to robust testing, CI/CD and cloud-friendly architectures while mentoring peers. This position offers exposure to high-impact risk data projects and a culture that values continuous learning and collaboration. You will help shape the future of data engineering at Citi with tangible, enterprise-scale outcomes.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement complex software solutions using Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, and RESTful services
  • Design, build, and maintain robust microservices following best practices
  • Apply Core Java skills, including multi-threading and Collections
  • Leverage Spring Framework for application development
  • Create and optimize SQL queries
  • Adhere to software engineering best practices, OOP, and design patterns
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines
  • Manage source code with Git or Bitbucket
  • Promote clean coding and maintain code quality with Sonar
  • Design and implement unit, integration, and functional tests
  • Analyze and solve complex technical problems
  • Lead, mentor and manage a team of application developers to foster excellence and collaboration
Key requirements
  • Experience delivering complex software solutions
  • Strong knowledge of Java/J2EE, Spring Boot, RESTful services (XML, JSON)
  • Proven experience with Microservices Architecture
  • Hands-on Core Java, multi-threading, Collections, and Spring Framework
  • Solid understanding of software engineering best practices, OOP, design patterns, and CI/CD
  • Experience with Git or Bitbucket
  • Understanding of clean coding and code quality tools like Sonar
  • Proven ability to design and implement unit, integration, and functional tests
  • Solution-driven mindset with ability to analyze complex problems and lead implementations
