Full Stack Engineer

Location: Toronto, ON – Hybrid, 3 days onsite per week

Term: 6-month contract

Rate: $70–$75/hour incorporated

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer to join a collaborative Agile technology team building and enhancing cloud-native applications.

This is a true full-stack position requiring strong experience across Java/Spring, React and AWS . You’ll contribute across front-end and back-end development, testing, deployment and overall application quality.

What You’ll Do

• Develop front-end and back-end features using React, Java, Kotlin, Spring, Node.js and Hibernate
• Build and enhance scalable web applications and backend services
• Work with AWS cloud services and cloud-native deployments
• Develop and work with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL
• Participate in code reviews, debugging, refactoring and performance improvements
• Create unit, integration, system and performance tests
• Work with Docker and containerized applications
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews and retrospectives
• Collaborate closely with developers and other technical team members

Must-Have Skills

• 5+ years of software engineering/full-stack development experience
• 5+ years with Java, Spring and backend development
• 3+ years of hands-on AWS experience
• Strong SQL and PostgreSQL
• Strong understanding of AWS services including S3, ECS, Fargate, API Gateway, IAM and CloudFormation
• Experience building and architecting web applications and backend services
• Comfortable with Python
• Strong debugging, code quality, branching and refactoring practices
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent experience

Nice to Have

• Kotlin

• Elasticsearch or other NoSQL technologies
• AWS Lambda and CloudWatch

Ideal candidate:

A hands-on senior developer who is equally comfortable contributing to backend Java/Spring development, React front-end development and AWS cloud environments , rather than specializing in only one area.
