Full Stack Engineer
Medasource
Our client is seeking a Full Stack Software Engineer to join its Sensors Infrastructure team and support the development and modernization of applications used in clinical research and wearable-device data management.
This individual will play a key role in rebuilding the Study Device Portal, a React-based web application that enables internal teams and external partners to monitor participant compliance, wearable-device usage, and study-related data.
The existing application is being modernized to leverage their internal systems, reusable components, and established engineering architecture. The selected engineer will take meaningful ownership of this initiative while collaborating with senior engineers and cross-functional stakeholders.
In addition to frontend development, this engineer will contribute to Go-based backend services supporting wearable-device data ingestion, authentication, data access, and integration with other systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design, develop, and maintain React-based frontend applications supporting the Study Device Portal.
Help rebuild and migrate the Study Device Portal using Verily's internal systems, shared components, and engineering standards.
Develop, maintain, and scale Go-based backend services supporting wearable-device data ingestion and application functionality.
Integrate backend services through APIs and gRPC-based communication.
Support authentication, authorization, and integration with identity management and ingestion services.
Work across the full technical stack, including frontend components, backend architecture, pipeline configurations, and healthcare data models.
Integrate applications with cloud-based databases and analytical data platforms.
Support the development of participant compliance monitoring tools, dashboards, and reporting views.
Collaborate with product, engineering, and internal stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver application improvements.
Participate in code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and application maintenance.
Maintain high standards for code quality, scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Independently manage assigned development tasks while collaborating with senior engineers on complex challenges.
Support production application troubleshooting and eventually participate in an established on-call rotation.
Skill Set Requirements:
3-5+ years of professional software engineering experience, preferably in full-stack application development.
Hands-on backend software development experience using Golang (Go).
Experience designing, building, and integrating APIs and backend services.
Familiarity with gRPC, REST APIs, or similar service communication technologies.
Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining full-stack applications in production environments.
Strong understanding of frontend/backend integration and application architecture.
Working knowledge of SQL, BigQuery, data lakes, or comparable database technologies.
Experience troubleshooting application issues and independently resolving technical challenges.
Familiarity with modern software engineering practices, including version control, code reviews, testing, and maintainable code design.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Ability to work independently, ask clarifying questions, and take ownership of technical deliverables.
Ability to work onsite three days per week in Dallas or Raleigh.
Must not require employer-sponsored work authorization now or in the future.
Nice to Haves:
Google Cloud Platform experience, including BigQuery, GCS, or Cloud Healthcare API.
Experience working with FHIR standards, resources, or healthcare data architectures.
Healthcare technology, digital health, clinical research, or pharmaceutical industry experience.
Familiarity with wearable-device data, remote patient monitoring, or clinical trial technology.
Experience developing enterprise portals, dashboards, or compliance monitoring applications.
Understanding of HIPAA requirements and healthcare data governance.
Experience with authentication, identity management, and access control systems.
Experience modernizing existing applications or migrating functionality to shared enterprise platforms.
Experience with cloud-based data ingestion pipelines or large-scale data processing.
Prior experience supporting production systems or participating in on-call rotations.
Education/Certification(s)/License(s):
No specific degree, certification, or professional license requirement was identified in the provided job description or intake discussion.
Relevant professional software engineering experience and demonstrated technical ability are the primary qualifications.
