Overview
In this role you will help architect, build and deploy APIs, web apps, data layers, and integrations across the stack using Node.js (TypeScript), React, MongoDB and cloud-native AWS. You will work in a cross-functional squad focused on delivering core services for AJ Bell’s apps and websites, supporting Feel Good Investing. You’ll own features from idea to production in a build-it, run-it DevOps culture. You’ll collaborate with Product, UX and business teams to propose practical solutions that enhance the customer experience. This is an opportunity to shape scalable, high-performing web solutions in a fast-growing financial services company.

Responsibilities
- Architect, build and deploy APIs, web apps, data layers and 3rd party integrations across the stack
- Develop full stack features hands-on in a cross-functional squad
- Collaborate with Product, UX and business stakeholders to propose and pilot new solutions
- Embrace a build-it, run-it DevOps mentality and take ownership from idea to production
- Contribute to high performing web experiences and scalable cloud-based solutions on AWS
Key requirements
- 5+ years of commercial experience building web applications and APIs
- Proficiency in Node.js with TypeScript, React; experience with PHP or .NET Core is a plus
- Experience with HTTP-based RESTful services and GraphQL
- Strong CI/CD experience (Jenkins and/or CodePipeline)
- Test-Driven Development and familiarity with various test frameworks
- Containerisation experience (Docker, ECS, Kubernetes) and AWS cloud deployments
- Strong JavaScript/web development background and focus on high-performing pages
- Ability to communicate with product/technical stakeholders and translate requirements
- Interest in UX and customer-focused problem solving
