Overview

In this role you will contribute to building and evolving a modular, end-to-end trade management platform for global markets. You will work with backend services and web interfaces, collaborating closely with frontend teams and architects to deliver robust, scalable software. Expect to troubleshoot, optimize performance, and drive clean, tested code within an Agile environment. This is an opportunity to shape core trading workflows and partner with brokers and vendors to enhance the platform’s efficiency and openness.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and implement backend services and web applications.
  • Write clean, well-tested code following established engineering practices.
  • Participate in technical design discussions with senior engineers and architects.
  • Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate backend services with UI components.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize application performance.
  • Break down user stories into technical tasks and deliver on timelines.
  • Collaborate in Agile teams with product owners, QA, and other developers.
  • Maintain and improve existing systems ensuring stability and reliability.
  • Build positive team relationships and contribute to a collaborative environment.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Continuously develop technical expertise and stay up to date with modern technologies and frameworks.
Key requirements
  • Strong Java fundamentals (Java 21 preferred) including collections, concurrency, memory management.
  • Spring Framework (Spring 4+) and Spring Boot 3.x experience.
  • Experience building and consuming REST APIs.
  • Knowledge of React (v17) and backend integration.
  • Understanding of web app architecture and client-server communication.
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases (PostgreSQL).
  • Proficiency with Git and build tools (Maven/Gradle).
  • Focus on clean code, unit testing, and code reviews.
  • Familiarity with Agile development practices.
  • Comfort working in Linux/Unix environments.
  • 5-8+ years of software engineering experience.
  • Experience with trading platforms preferred or broader financial services systems.
  • Clear communication to technical and non-technical stakeholders
