Overview

As Lead Software Engineer in the CDAS DataCore Engineering Team, you drive design and delivery of trusted, scalable technology products in a secure environment. You are a core technical contributor shaping architecture across multiple domains and business functions to support the firm’s objectives. You lead frontend and backend work, including React-based micro-frontends and Python (FastAPI) services, with a focus on security, resiliency, and observability. You also guide AI-assisted engineering practices and cross-team collaboration to improve quality and speed. This role offers impact at scale within a global financial services leader.

Responsibilities
  • Lead design and development of React-based micro-frontend applications and shared UI frameworks
  • Own and drive system design and architecture decisions (scalability, resiliency, observability, security, maintainability)
  • Design and build container-based, scalable backend services using Python (FastAPI) and modern API patterns
  • Develop secure and high-quality production code and review others’ code
  • Drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes
  • Apply SDLC toolchain knowledge, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities
  • Identify opportunities to automate recurring issues to improve operational stability
  • Lead evaluation sessions with external vendors, startups, and internal teams to assess architectural designs and applicability
Key requirements
  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and advanced applied experience
  • Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
  • Experience leading effective use of AI-assisted software development tools with ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs
  • Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows and secure handling of data
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle
  • Advanced understanding of agile methodologies including CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security
  • In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and IT systems
  • Practical cloud native experience
