Overview

As a Software Engineer II, you contribute to building secure, scalable software within JPMorganChase’s Commercial & Investment Bank Payments Technology. You work in an agile team to design, develop, and troubleshoot components across the tech stack, while growing your expertise. You collaborate with teammates to deliver reliable, high-quality solutions and leverage AI-assisted coding tools to improve speed and quality. This role offers opportunities to deepen engineering and product understanding in a large enterprise environment.

Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and troubleshoot software across multiple system components
  • Write secure, high-quality code in at least one language with limited guidance
  • Consider upstream/downstream system implications in development
  • Diagnose and solve basic to moderate technical problems
  • Analyze large diverse data sets to inform decisions for secure, stable applications
  • Learn and apply SDLC practices for secure, stable code and systems
  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive team culture
  • Leverage AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity with peer review and secure coding standards
  • Utilize enterprise SDLC and automation tools, including AI-assisted development, to enhance automation value
Key requirements
  • Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts
  • Hands-on experience with system design, development, testing, and operational stability
  • Experience coding, debugging, and maintaining code in a large-scale environment with modern languages and database querying
  • Experience across the full Software Development Life Cycle
  • Exposure to agile methodologies (CI/CD, resiliency, security practices)
  • Emerging knowledge of software applications in a technical discipline (cloud, AI/ML, mobile, etc.)
  • Hands-on experience with AI-assisted development tools and ability to evaluate AI outputs critically
  • Understanding of responsible AI usage, data sensitivity, secure inputs/outputs, resiliency and security
