Functional Systems Engineer

In this role you contribute to the defence portfolio from Bristol, joining the Functional Development team to shape system and subsystem requirements, design support, and certification activities. You will engage across programme delivery and stakeholder communications, including the Poland programme, while handling engineering change management and trade studies. This position offers exposure to diverse systems engineering activities and growth in a challenging, hybrid-working environment.

• Derive system, subsystem and software requirements from customer needs
• Support system design, technical studies and requirements management
• Contribute to certification activities, including evidence capture and Certificate of Design delivery
• Support programme delivery, bid activities and stakeholder engagement (including Poland programme)
• Undertake engineering change management, trade studies and system development activities

• Systems engineering experience, ideally within the defence sector
• Experience in requirements management and systems engineering tools (DOORS, DOORS NG, Rhapsody)
• Ability to communicate complex technical information to a range of stakeholders
• Experience of engineering change management and complex systems development
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Product line experience is advantageous
