Fund Accountant/Trade Operations

Our client, a NYC-based multi-billion-dollar hedge fund manager running a long/short equity strategy, with a lean, collaborative team is hiring. The firm is seeking an experienced Fund Accounting/Trade Operations professional to join its Finance team. This is a hands-on role that sits at the intersection of fund accounting, trade support, and investor reporting. The successful candidate will own critical reconciliation and month-end processes, oversee the work of the fund administrator, and be a credible, confident point of contact for the portfolio management team.

The firm is 5 days in office located in New York City, NY.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily and monthly trade, cash, and position reconciliations

• Review NAV packages from the fund administrator, including investor allocations, management and performance fee calculations, and capital activity

• Lead the month-end close of the books, including preparation of the monthly trial balance and investor allocations

• Assist with trade booking and settlement, including investigating and resolving trade fails

• Support day-to-day operations and serve as a knowledgeable contact for the portfolio manager(s), able to discuss positions, activity, and operational matters

• Partner cross-functionally with the administrator, prime brokers, and internal teams to resolve breaks and ensure timely, accurate reporting

Qualifications:

Required

• 3+ years of relevant experience in hedge fund accounting or fund administration

• Strong xhqgsiq technical knowledge of long/short equity strategies, fund structures, and partnership accounting

• Advanced Excel skills and comfort working with accounting and reporting systems

• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment

• High attention to detail, intellectual curiosity, and a strong sense of ownership

Preferred

• CPA (strongly preferred)

• Prior experience working with a fund administrator; experience with SS&C is a plus
