Overview

In this role you will lead end-to-end delivery of high-performance Java applications for FX risk across global markets. You’ll architect scalable, low-latency solutions and set engineering standards in a fast-paced, AI-enabled environment. You work closely with quants, traders, and stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust software, while driving innovation and adopting cutting-edge GenAI tooling. This is a strategic, production-focused platform with strong mentorship and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Lead end-to-end delivery of complex Java applications for FX risk management
  • Architect scalable, low-latency, secure production systems
  • Define technical direction and engineering standards for the team
  • Translate business requirements into high-quality code with cross-functional collaboration
  • Develop software in an agile setting, leveraging AI-powered coding tools
  • Act as a technical reference point, guiding quality and best practices
  • Evaluate and adopt new technologies and frameworks to improve the stack
  • Own L3 production support and long-term remediation of issues
  • Support testing and weekly release cycles, embracing TDD
  • Contribute to Citi's global risk technology strategy
Key requirements
  • Proven hands-on Java development experience with core Java and multithreading
  • Strong JVM performance optimization, memory profiling, GC tuning
  • Distributed systems architecture and in-memory computing knowledge
  • Experience with Apache Ignite at production scale
  • MongoDB proficiency (CRUD, indexing, performance)
  • Deep SQL knowledge in Oracle with performance tuning
  • Experience with Apache Kafka and/or Solace
  • Linux environment proficiency and scripting
  • Cloud deployment experience (AWS, Azure)
  • Commitment to TDD and end-to-end release ownership
