Gastroenterologist Locums Job in California Starting November 2026

Job Requirements for Assignment :
California State Medical license
Board Certified Gastroenterologist
Mix of Clinic and call required
Clinic: Candidate expected to see 2 patients per hour in the clinic;
24-Hour Call Coverage: Candidate expected to be available during shifts to respond to calls from Facility in a timely manner per medical staff guidelines and see emergent patients as presented through Emergency Department.
At least 4 telephonic events and at least 3-4 in-person events per shift (could be consults or procedures).
General Bread & Butter coverage
ERCP and EUS not required
Duration of Coverage: 11/17/2026 to 05/17/2027
Mid-level support available Monday-Friday
Coverage includes weekend call

GI Department Annual Volume Breakdown:
Gastrointestinal Procedures (Outpatient): Approximately 714+ procedures per year.
Lower GI Procedures (e.g., Colonoscopies): 382 procedures.
Upper GI Procedures (e.g., Endoscopies): 332 procedures.
Emergency Department (ED) Context: The hospital's ED sees over 60,000-65,000 patients per year, many of whom are referred to specialized GI care for acute issues.
