Job Description
Join a busy hospital team delivering comprehensive gastroenterology care to adult patients. You'll perform a variety of endoscopic procedures-including ERCP-and provide inpatient consults while sharing call coverage. The role offers a blended schedule of daytime hospital work and overnight call, with support from experienced APPs and in house anesthesia.

• Additional Friday 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM (hospital)
• Patient Population: Adult (18+)
• Location: Chambersburg, PA

Job Responsibilities

• Perform inpatient gastroenterology consults and endoscopic procedures, with a focus on ERCP.
• Provide on call coverage for emergency endoscopy and related issues.
• Collaborate with hospital based APPs for consults and procedure assistance.
• Document all encounters in EPIC EMR accurately and timely.
• Coordinate with in house anesthesia for all procedural cases.
• Participate in multidisciplinary rounds and quality improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Gastroenterology.
• Valid Pennsylvania Physician Assistant (PA) license.
• DEA registration required.
• Minimum of 1 year post training clinical experience.
• Ability to obtain credentialing within 90 days (temporary privileges if file is clean).

Working Hours

• Monday Thursday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (hospital)
• Friday: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PM (consults/procedures) + 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM on call; also 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM hospital coverage.
• Saturday Sunday: 7:00 AM - 5:00 PM (hospital) + 5:00 PM - 7:00 AM on call.

Skills

• Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record.
• Expertise in ERCP and standard endoscopic techniques.
• Strong clinical decision making for acute gastrointestinal emergencies.
• Excellent communication and teamwork with APPs, nursing staff, and anesthesia.
• Ability to manage a high volume inpatient schedule while maintaining quality care.
