Position Overview

Seeking a Board-Certified Gastroenterologist for locum tenens coverage in Wisconsin. This assignment will provide outpatient GI procedure coverage along with inpatient GI call responsibilities.

The ideal candidate will be comfortable performing outpatient endoscopy procedures and managing GI-related inpatient consults and call coverage.

• Tuesday, November 3 (if available nonconsecutive day)

• Thursday, November 5

• Friday, November 6

• Thursday, November 12

• Friday, November 13

• Monday, November 16

• Tuesday, November 17

• Monday, November 30

• Tuesday, December 1

• Monday, December 7

• Tuesday, December 8

Daily Schedule

• Procedure days begin approximately 8:00 AM

• Procedures run until approximately 3:30 4:00 PM

• Outpatient GI scopes

• 24/7 GI call coverage during assigned dates

Clinical Responsibilities

• Perform outpatient GI procedures

• Provide inpatient GI consultation coverage

• Manage GI call responsibilities

• Respond to urgent GI-related patient needs

• Provide appropriate documentation in Epic

• Collaborate with onsite clinical support staff

Patient Volume

• Approximately scopes per day

• Inpatient GI census: approximately 2 3 patients

Call Responsibilities

• 24/7 GI call coverage during assigned dates

• Phone response expectation: within 5 minutes

• Return-to-site expectation: within 30 minutes

Requirements

• Board Certified in Gastroenterology

• Active Wisconsin medical license required

• ACLS certification required

• Eligible for hospital privileges and credentialing

• Comfortable with outpatient endoscopy procedures and inpatient GI coverage

Facility Information

• Hospital-based GI service

• Suburban setting

• Trauma Level III facility

• Adult and geriatric patient population

• Onsite RN and MA support

• No resident or fellow supervision

Documentation

• Real-time charting or completion by end of shift required

• Epic EMR experience preferred

Productivity Expectations

Provider should be able to perform outpatient GI procedures during scheduled procedure days while also providing GI call coverage responsibilities during the assignment.
