GenAI Full-Stack Engineer Lead

In this hands-on Engineering Lead role at Citi Belfast, you will provide technical leadership while staying close to code. You will shape engineering culture, drive adoption of Generative AI, and build scalable developer platforms across teams. You’ll align platform strategy with business priorities and deliver high-impact programmes. • Drive design and delivery of enterprise-scale applications for critical business functions and large user bases
• Maintain hands-on involvement in architecture, system design, reviews, and engineering decisions
• Set technical direction across frontend, backend, APIs, cloud services and platform components
• Collaborate with senior stakeholders to align platform strategy with organizational priorities
• Deliver high-visibility business-critical programmes
• Champion engineering excellence, DevSecOps, platform engineering and continuous improvement
• Mentor engineering managers and senior engineers to foster technical excellence and accountability
• Promote adoption of developer platforms, automation, and enterprise standards across teams

• Proven leadership of software engineering teams in a hands-on capacity
• Strong software engineering expertise in modern languages/frameworks; experience with Python, Go, TypeScript, JavaScript or React
• Experience delivering AI-enabled or Generative AI solutions in enterprise environments
• Experience building enterprise-scale cloud-native apps using Kubernetes, containers, microservices and event-driven architectures
• Solid understanding of distributed systems, resiliency, scalability and performance engineering
• Knowledge of SQL and NoSQL, API design and integration patterns
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management to influence tech decisions
