Overview

As Geospatial Platform Lead, you will steer the development of advanced geospatial solutions and oversee the geospatial enterprise environment. You’ll deliver workflows, data management, analysis, and mapping capabilities across desktop, enterprise, and mobile platforms, while partnering with regional leads to scale solutions globally. You will maintain system integrity, optimize cloud-based infrastructure, and drive automation to improve efficiency. Your work supports Lightsource bp’s mission to accelerate the energy transition through precise spatial insights and strong governance. Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of GIS professionals with coaching and performance development
  • Design, develop, and maintain geospatial applications across enterprise, desktop, and mobile environments
  • Implement scalable geospatial workflows with Python and ArcPy
  • Integrate geospatial platforms with other enterprise systems and ensure high availability and security
  • Define development standards and documentation for maintainable workflows
  • Troubleshoot geospatial systems and stay current with industry trends
  • Collaborate with regional leads and internal departments to meet geospatial requirements
  • Provide technical leadership and mentoring on best practices in coding and project workflows
Key requirements
  • 7+ years in geospatial technologies, preferably in renewables or related sectors
  • Extensive experience in enterprise geospatial solutions, GIS, remote sensing, analysis
  • Strong data management, governance, and standards experience
  • Experience integrating geospatial platforms with other enterprise systems
  • Cloud-based solutions experience is an advantage
  • Experience coordinating teams and leading technical activities
  • Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcSDE, Portal for ArcGIS, FME, ArcPy, Python
  • Excellent communication with diverse stakeholders
  • Detail-oriented with strong data organization and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
