Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Manager of Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting provides hands-on support for corporate accounting, consolidation, financial reporting, internal controls and audit activities across the company’s international operations. The role is responsible for executing and coordinating recurring controllership processes, investigating accounting issues, preparing reliable analyses and escalating significant matters for review and decision. The Manager of Corporate Accounting and Financial Reporting works closely with corporate, regional and operational finance teams to deliver accurate and timely results, maintain accounting documentation, support compliance requirements and implement practical process improvements. The successful candidate is detail-oriented, organized, collaborative and comfortable working directly with financial data, systems and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial Reporting & Compliance
    • Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual consolidated financial statements in compliance with IFRS/GAAP.
    • Oversee consolidations, intercompany eliminations, foreign currency translation, and reporting across multiple countries and legal entities.
    • Analyze financial results, investigate variances, and provide meaningful insights to management.
    • Maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal control documentation.
    • Coordinate internal and external audits, ensuring timely completion of audit requirements.
    • Support tax reporting, statutory filings, and regulatory compliance activities.
  • Accounting Operations
    • Manage the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring deadlines are met.
    • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, and supporting financial analyses.
    • Collaborate with shared services, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and regional finance teams to ensure data integrity and reporting accuracy.
    • Support cash flow reporting, working capital analysis, and capital expenditure tracking.
    • Participate in acquisition accounting, due diligence activities, and post-acquisition integration projects.
  • Process Improvement & Systems
    • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
    • Support automation initiatives, reporting enhancements, and financial system improvements.
    • Partner with IT and business stakeholders on system implementations, upgrades, testing, and reporting solutions.
    • Lead cross-functional projects and provide technical accounting guidance to finance team members.
  • Leadership & Team Development
    • Manage, coach, and develop a team of four accounting professionals.
    • Establish clear performance expectations, goals, and development plans.
    • Provide ongoing mentorship, feedback, and succession planning support.
    • Foster a collaborative, accountable, and continuous improvement-oriented culture.
    • Partner with leaders across the organization to support strategic business initiatives and decision-making.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration. CPA designation required. Minimum of 5-8 years of progressive accounting experience, including financial reporting, consolidations, and month-end close responsibilities. Previous experience leading and developing accounting or finance teams. Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, internal controls, and financial reporting principles. Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with ERP systems; experience with Infor M3 and BPC is considered an asset. Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Ability to manage multiple priorities and operate effectively in a fast-paced environment. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Bilingual (French and English), both written and spoken. Spanish or Portuguese is considered an asset. Experience in a manufacturing, multinational, or multi-entity environment is an asset.

Qualifications

Strong knowledge of IFRS/GAAP, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance requirements. Experience preparing and reviewing consolidated financial statements in a multi-entity environment. Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP systems; knowledge of Infor M3 and BPC is considered an asset. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to partner effectively with stakeholders across all levels of the organization. Fluency in English is required to ensure adequate support for English-speaking clients and colleagues within the scope of the position’s responsibilities.
