Overview

In this role, you’ll provide on-site support for the Gladiator training system at RAF Waddington, ensuring readiness and reliable operation of a distributed synthetic training environment. You’ll work closely with MoD and instructional staff to plan, configure, and troubleshoot to meet exercise needs. You’ll diagnose faults, apply fixes, and maintain secure, safe integration with third-party and internal Boeing teams. The position emphasizes hands-on engineering, customer-focused service, and continuous improvement in a mission-critical setting.

Responsibilities
  • Provide on-site support for the Gladiator system during exercises with MoD and staff
  • Initialise configurations and monitor performance to meet SLAs, applying hotfixes or workarounds
  • Deploy configurations via established pipelines and change control processes
  • Respond to user issues promptly with practical, timely solutions
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and perform preventive maintenance with safety and security in mind
  • Analyze logs and diagnostics to identify root causes and document issues
  • Complete post-operation tasks and restore environments to baselines for next use
  • Liaise with third-party suppliers and internal teams to resolve faults and drive improvements
  • Maintain and improve operational processes and technical documentation
  • Travel to remote sites as required and work shift patterns
  • Demonstrate Boeing values and collaborate effectively in a changing environment
Key requirements
  • Eligibility for UK SC Security Clearance
  • Commitment to safety and sound engineering practices
  • Willingness to work in a military environment and follow security procedures
  • Version control awareness (Git preferred)

  • Understanding of deploying and managing software in multi-component systems
  • Experience with Windows/Server platforms; Linux exposure
