About this opportunity

As we continue our transformation journey and build the next generation of cloud platforms, we're looking for a Google Cloud Network DevOps Engineer to join a highly skilled, product-aligned engineering team specialising in Google Cloud Platform (GCP) networking.

You'll help build and evolve secure, scalable and automated platform services that enable application teams to develop, modernise and operate solutions more effectively. This is an opportunity to work on cloud networking platforms that support critical enterprise services and help shape the future of cloud adoption across the Group.

Key responsibilities include:

• Designing, building and evolving secure, resilient and automated GCP networking services.
• Developing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code solutions using Terraform.
• Supporting and improving cloud networking capabilities across production and non-production environments.
• Collaborating with engineers and platform teams to enable secure connectivity and modern application delivery.
• Embedding security, reliability, observability and compliance into services throughout their lifecycle.
• Contributing to operational excellence through code reviews, troubleshooting, continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.

What you'll need

• Hands-on experience engineering GCP networking solutions, including services such as VPCs, Cloud Interconnect, VPC Peering, Cloud Routers, Firewalls, DNS, Load Balancers, Private Connectivity and Cloud or Hybrid NAT.
• Strong experience using Terraform to deploy and manage infrastructure as code.
• Practical DevOps experience using modern engineering and automation tooling, such as Git, Terraform Cloud, GitHub or Harness.
• Experience designing, deploying and supporting services through their full lifecycle with security, compliance and reliability embedded from the outset.
• Strong problem-solving capability and a commitment to delivering resilient, secure and well-engineered outcomes.
• Ability to collaborate effectively across teams whilst supporting colleagues and continually improving engineering practices.

And any experience of this would be really useful

• Experience supporting large-scale GCP networking environments and hybrid connectivity solutions.
• Knowledge of automation and scripting using Python or Bash.
• Exposure to monitoring and observability tooling such as Dynatrace or Google Cloud Monitoring, and relevant GCP certifications.
