Google Data Center Operations Technician

Google seeks a Data Center Operations Technician in Toronto with Linux administration and server hardware troubleshooting experience. The position requires physical infrastructure work.

This existing vacancy supports Google’s Hardware Operations team in Toronto, Ontario. You will install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain servers, components, and server software. The work also includes networking equipment, protocols, data security, and infrastructure deployment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deploy and operate new data center infrastructure across teams
• Install, configure, test, troubleshoot, and maintain server hardware
• Diagnose equipment and infrastructure issues using required resources
• Maintain data security and track media for irregularities
• Repair equipment and perform preventative maintenance

Requirements:

• Experience troubleshooting operating systems, computer hardware, and server hardware
• Experience performing component-level technical equipment repairs
• Experience with networking protocols and Linux system administration
• Ability to lift and move 50 pounds of equipment
• Ability to work weekends, nights, holidays, and shift schedules
