Senior Finance Leadership Opportunity | Major Multi-Site Business

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Group Finance Director to join a substantial, privately owned, internationally backed business undergoing a period of significant growth, integration and transformation.

Reporting directly to the CFO, this is a senior leadership appointment with responsibility for financial control, statutory reporting, treasury, cash management and central finance operations across a complex, multi-site organisation.

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in strengthening financial governance, improving reporting quality, driving operational efficiencies and supporting the Group's strategic growth ambitions, including future M&A activity and business integration.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across Group financial accounting, reporting, treasury and central finance operations.
  • Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual reporting, ensuring financial accuracy, balance sheet integrity and statutory compliance.
  • Strengthen financial controls, governance and accounting processes across the Group.
  • Lead treasury, liquidity, cash flow forecasting and working capital management.
  • Oversee central finance operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management and payroll-related finance activities.
  • Support Group budgeting, forecasting and business planning, ensuring the integrity of integrated P&L, balance sheet and cash flow forecasts.
  • Support the Group's M&A strategy, working alongside the CFO on acquisition evaluation, financial due diligence, transaction support and post-acquisition integration.
  • Drive finance transformation, including systems optimisation, process standardisation, automation and improved management information.
  • Develop and lead a high-performing finance team, strengthening capability, accountability and succession planning.
  • Work closely with the CFO and senior leadership team to support strategic decision-making, business development and future growth.
  • Contribute to Board reporting and provide financial insight, constructive challenge and recommendations to senior stakeholders.

The Candidate

We are seeking a commercially astute, technically strong and accomplished finance leader with the experience and credibility to operate within a large, complex and evolving organisation.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:

  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
  • Significant senior finance leadership experience, ideally as a Group Finance Director, Finance Director or Group Financial Controller.
  • A strong background in financial accounting, statutory reporting, governance and financial controls.
  • Proven experience of treasury, cash flow, working capital and balance sheet management.
  • Experience leading substantial finance teams across multi-site or multi-entity businesses.
  • A track record of improving financial reporting, processes, systems and operational efficiency.
  • Experience supporting M&A activity, including financial due diligence, acquisition evaluation and post-acquisition integration.
  • Demonstrable experience of finance transformation, systems integration and organisational change.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and challenge at Board and executive level.
  • A hands-on, pragmatic leadership style combined with the ability to operate strategically.
  • Experience within large, multi-site, high-volume transactional businesses, particularly those operating across multiple locations with complex financial and operational structures, would be advantageous.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established, internationally backed business with ambitious plans for continued development and growth.

Working directly with the CFO, the successful individual will have considerable influence over the future direction of the finance function, supporting strategic investment and acquisition activity whilst leading improvements in financial governance, operational efficiency and business integration.

The role offers the opportunity to implement meaningful change, develop a strong leadership team and help shape the financial infrastructure supporting the Group's long-term ambitions.
