Group Risk Manager

In this role you will design, implement and oversee the Group’s risk management framework and insurance programmes across an international portfolio. You’ll collaborate with senior management, brokers, insurers and risk engineers to provide commercially grounded advice and drive programme governance. The position sits at Group HQ level, handling complex risks and major insurance programmes with exposure to decision makers. This is a chance to shape risk management across a diversified industrial group and contribute to continuous improvement.

• Identify cost-effective risk protection and insurance solutions across group businesses
• Structure, market and implement insurance programmes with brokers and insurers
• Take responsibility for selected corporate insurance renewals
• Review insurance arrangements for relevance, effectiveness and compliance
• Gather, analyse and validate underwriting information from the Group
• Assess and report significant risks and emerging issues
• Support businesses through the claims process
• Manage relationships with insurers, brokers, engineers and other specialists
• Maintain governance, documentation and payment processes for corporate insurances
• Share risk and insurance knowledge across the business and drive continuous improvement

• 7–10 years in insurance, across several classes
• Experience with complex corporate insurance programmes, in-house, brokered or market-based
• Energy and/or casualty insurance experience is advantageous
• Understanding of risk management, insurance regulation and market practice
• Experience developing and implementing insurance programmes and processes
• Strong commercial judgement with ability to translate risk into practical advice
• Excellent communication, influencing and stakeholder-management skills with senior stakeholders
• Strong analytical ability and attention to detail in risk/insurance data
• Proactive, organised, collaborative approach; ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-moving environment
