As a Hardware Engineer at BAE Systems Digital Intelligence, you will design and deliver RF and high-speed digital hardware from concept to demonstrator. You will work in a multi-disciplinary team to create advanced RF front ends, FPGA/SoC platforms, and mixed-signal subsystems. Responsibilities
- Design and develop RF and high-speed digital hardware, including RF front ends, FPGA-based processing platforms, and mixed-signal systems from concept to demonstrator (TRL 2–6+)
- Develop high-quality FPGA designs on Xilinx devices leveraging FPGA/SoC architectures for embedded processing
- Perform RF and analogue PCB circuit design and layout from VLF to microwave frequencies, and high-speed digital PCB design with FPGAs, SoCs, ADCs, DACs
Key requirements
- Strong background in RF hardware engineering, particularly in Radar and/or Electronic Warfare domains (or related)
- Proven ability to produce high-quality, complex FPGA designs on Xilinx devices
- Solid understanding of FPGA and SoC architectures
- Experience in RF and analogue PCB circuit design and layout from VLF to microwave frequencies
- Experience in high-speed digital PCB circuit design and layout, including FPGAs, SoCs, ADCs, and DACs
- Good understanding of RF subsystems, including antennas, front-end electronics, and signal chains
- Experience in hardware prototyping, integration, and test
