As Hazards Technical Lead at Framatome UK, you will provide expert guidance on safety studies within NS&E and lead hazard-related activities for UK EPR projects. You’ll mentor engineers, drive risk-informed design and knowledge sharing, and interface with project teams to ensure robust hazard mitigation. The role sits at the intersection of safety, design integrity, and project delivery, contributing to safer, cleaner nuclear operations. - Provide technical leadership and mentorship within NS&E, guiding junior engineers.
- Organise and manage scope-related meetings, create introductory work plans, and track activities.
- Perform technical reviews of deliverables and approve where SQEP permits.
- Author deliverables in exceptional cases and contribute to knowledge management within NS&E.
- Interface with Project Client Teams for technical discussions and issue feedback.
- Highlight foreseen risks to the NS&E Group Lead and support task order and workforce planning activities.
- Support activity planning, including competencies, budgets, milestones, and safety/quality culture promotion.
- Ensure day-to-day technical delivery aligns with safety, quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
- Support the Safety Action Plan and engage with Edvance-wide discipline meetings related to the scope.
- Liaise with Edvance/SNE teams on topics of common interest and participate in related discipline meetings.
- For Hazards scope, ensure adequate mitigation in design of NI buildings per RD-approved methodologies and client references.
- Engineered degree level education, preferably in safety studies
- Ability to technically lead and support a cohort of engineers
- Knowledge of safety requirements and safety studies from a highly regulated industry
- Familiarity with NNB GenCo’s NSDAPs and their application
- Experience with UK EPR systems, electrical and layout engineering
- Knowledge of PDMS and Navisworks
- Fluent English; French language is a bonus
