Head of Data

In this role you lead the Trust’s data and analytics function, shaping the information landscape to support clinical services and performance improvement. You will oversee the data warehouse, BI delivery, and data governance, collaborating with clinical and informatics teams to enable trusted insights. The position offers strategic influence on data-driven change, with opportunities to adopt new technologies and drive continuous improvement. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, compliant reporting and analytics across the Trust.

• Oversee day-to-day management of the CPFT data warehouse, including ETL from diverse sources, with strong security and data integrity
• Lead development of the data warehouse aligned to the Data, Digital and Technology Strategy; integrate new data sources and enhance analytics, exploring cloud and AI
• Provide assurance on data quality, manage change control, support audit and security testing
• Develop and quality assure data integration applications using appropriate tools
• Collaborate with clinical leads and departments to identify opportunities and provide technical leadership on solutions
• Produce and deliver transparent reporting outputs from simple extracts to complex analyses and visualisations, ensuring regulatory compliance
• Manage and develop the BI team, including recruitment, training, performance management, and fostering a customer-focused culture
• Support research, service evaluation, and adoption of best practices, staying aligned with national developments and policies
• Ensure all activities adhere to Trust values, policies, confidentiality, equality and diversity

• Degree in IT or numeric subject
• Postgraduate evidence of further study in informatics or analytics or equivalent experience
• Significant post-qualification experience leading information development in a large multi-disciplinary organisation
• Proven experience in enterprise architecture and data warehouse modelling, design and development
• Microsoft Azure with SQL Server technologies (SSMS/SSIS/SSRS/SSAS)
• PowerBI administration, configuration and design at enterprise level
• Attention to detail in all aspects of work
• Knowledge of NHS performance requirements (MHSDS, CSDS) and their representation in systems
• In-depth knowledge of SQL Server database administration and related technologies
